About J.J. Shamal Ibn Alam
Our liver chestnut stallion J.J. Shamal Ibn Alam was bred in 2004 in Belgium by Dr. B. Vande Vyvere out of the Ibn Barrada-mare J.J. Isha Bint Bint Mowaffac. He was sired by Alam E.A.O., the last Straight Egyptian Sheykh Obeyd stallion bred at the Egyptian State Stud of El Zahraa, the primary source for Straight Egyptian breeding stock. Alam E.A.O. is a grandson of the famous head sire Alaa El Dine through his sire Al Aneed. Shamal has 4 crosses on Alaa El Dine ! Al Aneed’s dame, Kamarwas one of the most influential Nazeer daughters at the El Zahraa State Stud. The dame of J.J. Shamal Ibn Alam is a granddaughter of the grey S.E. stallion Mowaffac, a Ramses Fayek son, who was succesfully used by Herman and Loes van der Vorm in their stud in the U.K. and Holland. The granddame of Isha is the Koheilan Rodania mare Lateefah II, in the tail maternal line to Noha. Shamal has a lot of the rare ‘Desert Look’ through his parents, they both belong to the Koheilan Rodania strain. Even his maternal grandfather Ibn Barrada is a member of the Koheilan Krus strain.
Introducing this stallion in our breeding program, we hope to find an excellent breeding individual as well for our inbred Saqluawi Gidran Ibn Sudan mares as well for our Ansata – related bloodlines.
